There is nothing more satisfying than taking something that’s already in existence and reworking it into something else….something better, something more fun. This is the sustainable way to sew and we can let our imagination go crazy, add ruffles, change the buttons, add lace or ric rac! Or just chop it and crop it! We will have lots of fun creating and stying our shirts.
THIS COURSE WILL COVER
Suitable for beginner sewists, the class will cover:
· How to use sewing methods to rework existing garments.
· How to add trimmings to a high standard.
· How to finish your raw edges
· How to hem
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is suitable for beginner sewists. Anyone who can use a sewing machine.
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
Please bring a freshly washed shirt. It can be a mens or women’s shirt please make sure it fits you comfortably or is oversized.
You can also bring along and trimmings, lace, ric rac, buttons, or embellishments you might want to add.
Drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the sessions. Please feel free to also bring your own refreshments if preferred.
WHERE WILL THE WORKSHOP BE?
CRAFT Sheffield
639a Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, S7 1TB
All classes take place in our studio space in Sheffield. We are on the main bus route along Abbeydale road.
We have a dedicated workshop space. We are located within The Old Coach House building. Access is via a flight of stair. Unfortunately we aren’t accessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs.
The studio has 8 Brother sewing machines, 4 Brother overlockers and all the sewing equipment you need for your sewing projects. We have a fully equipped kitchen and toilet.
