Sew a Jacket 2 day workshop

With this Jacket pattern we will work through the project together and sew a casual oversized jacket.

The jacket is lined (the lining can be left out) and the jacket is finished with bias tape and snap fasteners.

This pattern is offered in an inclusive size range of 6-28. 

Choose between two lengths, a round neck or collar and two different patch pockets - the perfect mix & match pattern!

This workshop is suitable for confident sewers who have sewn a few different projects and want to develop new skills.

Pre- quilted fabrics as well as teddy fleece or wool coat fabrics are suitable and you can give your Jacket a completely individual look depending on your choice of fabric and version.

THIS COURSE WILL COVER

Suitable for confident sewists, the class will cover:

· How to cut your fabric and make all necessary markings

· How to cut fabric pieces on the grain/bias

· How to finish your raw edges

· How to sew bias binding.

· How to line a jacket.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?

This class is suitable for confident sewists. Anyone who can confidently use a sewing machine and has used a paper pattern before. And sewn a few projects.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:

You will need to bring fabric suitable for making your jacket ( 2 - 2.5m depending on size) and matching lining fabric and bias binding.

Pre quilted fabrics, fleeces, Borg fabric work well. You will be sent a full list of requirements before the course starts. Drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the sessions. Please feel free to also bring your own refreshments if preferred.

WHERE WILL THE WORKSHOP BE?

All classes take place in our studio space in Sheffield. We are on the main bus route along Abbeydale road.

We have a dedicated workshop space. We are located within The Old Coach House building. Access is via a flight of stair. Unfortunately we aren’t accessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs.

The studio has 8 Brother sewing machines, 4 Brother overlockers and all the sewing equipment you need for your sewing projects. We have a fully equipped kitchen and toilet.
